Evolution history

Maybe this is not a right place, or maybe you have already discussed about this, but I don't have enough time to search all topics. I am writing a paper about evolution history of modern reptiles, and if you have some links that can help me, I would be grateful.

I believe that most living species adapt to their environments if the change is gradual.
Evolution is logically impossible due to living species being unable to create new life forms from existing genes etc.
