Two indicted in stolen snake case
PLAISTOW, N.H. - A former employee of a New Hampshire snake-breeding company has been charged in the theft of two unique pythons, after ads for the stolen snakes started appearing on web sites.
Brad Bilodeau, 28, of Derry, is charged with receiving stolen property in the theft of one snake and with stealing pet food, supplies, toys and a second snake. Sara VanCoppenolle, 25, also of Derry, is charged with theft.
Owner Kevin McCurley, at New England Reptile Distributors and Zoo World in Plaistow, said he bred the snakes, making them genetically unique. So it was easy to notice when ads for them started appearing on snake-aficionado Web sites.
Neither snake has been recovered.
