Nice to have new members, but do they have to spam us with NON reptile ads??? Don't people have any imagination??? How about a shameless plug for some reptile website?? Petshop?? etc..  Unless I plan to enlarge my snake's hemipense ... I DON"T WANT THEM!!!!!

Spammers are a real pain, they dont give up . Even if it was reptile sites, most would still consider it spamming.  Personally thats why I have a links section on my forums for people to post about their herp/invert sites or great ones they have found.

That would be a great addition to this forum. A place for members to post links to their websites, photo pages, etc.. as long as it is herp related of course. It would have to be closely moderated to keep the spammers out, but it seems pretty easy to delete unwanted messages.

If our humble leader would like to share his/her thoughts on this ??

I've seen several spammers here. They posted something like vigra, pen*s enlargement ads/comments here...

I've blocked their IP, username, email, n password...

I'll keep an eye on these spammers.

Sorry - I've been deleting the posts outright.  Never gave it a second thought about banning IPs.  I'll let you know the username in future when I delete them so they can be blocked.

I delete any posts I see by spammers. Its not just these forums, all forums have spammers, bigger forums anyway, thats the only bad part about growing. I am starting to have to deal with them on my forums, if it keeps up I will have to start doing email verfication for new members, that may be something you want to consider for here.

I ran two forums were spam was a plague. Its recognizing the member that was the trick.
Some post stupid comments or repeats from other sites and then after two or three posts start there crap.

I have just deleted about 20 or 30 posts and those I was unable to had to "modify".
