birds of prey
« on: February 27, 2007, 08:24:33 PM »

lets try and get this sectiongoin a bit so does anyone out there have an interest in birds of prey?
i work as an education officer for my families bird of prey and exotic animal sanctuary in northern ireland which is open to the public. i am also head of the herpetology department.
my family run this place with the help of a few friends and we do it voluntarily which we have done for the past 10 odd yrs.
our aim is to teach people the importance of these animals and provide a rescue service wen people go and buy them as a novelty
it is so sad some of the things we witness...and also frustrating.
wen the harry potter films came out so many people were buyin owls..snowy owls in particular, we had one case wen a guy took his to a local vet and asked for the talons to be remved so it wasnt goin to damage the furniture wen he let it out of the budgie cage he was keepin it in!!!!
i will post the link of our website at the bottom of this post so please do have a look at our site and get info on us and our wonderful animals

and yes plz do get in contact with me with any bird of prey (or reptile...or any other animal!) queries
we work with many species of bird and animal so we will help as much as we can

It's really interesting to know so much about WOO (World Of Owl) ! But it's too much too digest for me as it's a new subject for me, I suggest you help us to pick n post some sections in this forum under your exotic animals n lead us to the sites in your WOO if one need to know more about the subject.

I am sure you can help us a lot with so many interesting info you got in WOO !

Wink Thank you  for sharing with us Chrissy!

I get called out to rescue birds of prey that have been hit by vehicles or fallen from nests. My father was a bit of a bird wiz but I never acquired the interest that strong.
I have friends that do rehabilitation so I take the bird state to them. I am very interested in the workings and have no problem learning.
If you are in need of info pls drop me a line as I have some real good contacts this side of the world.

Nagin said there will be a “total evacuation of the city. We have to. The city will not be functional for two or three months.” And he said people would not be allowed back into their homes for at least a month or two.cheap kids uggs boots
