IGUANAS
« on: October 18, 2006, 02:13:28 AM »

Seeing as there was no posts yet about Iguanas( ig's) I thought I might be the first to do it! Im a huge IG fan so far I have two, and many other pets! Toby and Rex are both amazing and teach me more and more everyday, theirs nothing quite like an iguana their amazing creatures with plenty to teach us!!
I guess I should tell you a little bit about them, toby was my first and is about 2 years old,he was wild caught and a little crazy..we still have handling issues but are working on them...Rex is 4months and was a rescue..I got him from a horrible pet shop where he was crammed into a tiny cage with his 3 dying sisters...he wasnt as bad off as them but he does have his problems...a broken toe and tail and shedding problems..all which we are working on and getting better too:)
so those are my IG's anyone want to tell me about there little green monsters?

I had an ig a few years ago, he was mean as heck. I had to get rid of him when we moved because I dont have the room for a 6ft cage.

For shedding problems I use either baby oil or vaseline to help with shedding and also daily baths.  I have rehabbed a few iguana and these method work wonderfully.
