Cages for your Beardie
« on: October 17, 2006, 08:59:05 AM »

I'm making this topic so that if anybody has questions about a cage for their bearded dragon or has some helpful hints they could share them Smiley

Size; Should be four feet by two feet by two feet but 4x2x18" is okay as well for a full grown dragon.
Substrate; I found that slate are the best because they look nice and are very easy to clean
Temperature The best temp is anywere from 95 to 108 with a cooler end that is 85 to 95

If anybody has anyquestions or concerns about my data, or just more sugestions it would be great for those interested in Bearded Dragons

Brumation is natural for beardies.  If he wishes to brumate, let him.  It is very healthy for them to do as long as they are not ill.  A simple vet and fecal exam will rule out illness.  Just reduce his lights to 6-8 hours a day and let him sleep.  I have 10 dragons in brumation now and three more on the way.

105-110 is only for babies not adults. Adults should have 95-100

That depends on the beardeds. some handle it fine. i have a couple in tanks. then a couple in all melamine enclosures. and i had one dragon flip out because they couldnt see out. and the rest are all good. i only covered up the sides and gradually took them down on one bearded out of the 5 i have
