Hi everyone, can anyone tell me if there is any problems with keeping a Uromastyx in the same Viv as a pair of collared lizards as im a little short of space.
I see 2 major problems...
ONE the Uro is Strict herbivore.. The collard lizards need some insect matter.
TWO: IS THE HEAT. Uros should have a basking side of 125 F... An american collard lizard would only be exposed to around 100 F. Way too hot for the smaller lizards.
And then there is the whole mixing species thing. Unless you are possitive these are ALL captive bred, you will be dealing with foreign pathogens.. that can cause serious health problems for the lizards. i.e. Africian parasites into a North American Lizard..
As a rule, don't mix.
