i've been thinking about this for a while and wot everyone has said is true
and is wot i would want from a pet shop
as long as your knowledgeable and courteous towards the customers (unlike the one near me that was ignoring my 4yr old when all she wanted to tell him tht his tort had rolled on to its back and was stuck between the wall of the cage and its house ) and have a clean shop im sure you will do fine and good luck

I have been thinking about breeding my own feed crickets ect I need to research how to do it some more. I currently breed all the mice for my corn snakes and rat snakes. We buy the rats for the boas.


Planning to do a good range off reptiles. No worries on the corn snake front as I breed them already and my boyfriend breeds boas. I am also breeding Bearded dragons for the first time this year

also wanted to input, i cant stand goin to a shop where men rule and if a woman tries to purchase supplies for her reptiles, she gets accused of not knowing anything about reps because frankly, reptiles are supposedly 'mens territory', far too advanced and dangerous for us females!grrrrr that makes me angry!
think everybody covered everything else!

tell me about it chrissy I recently moved back to newcastle and had to go and buy food for all the snakes as during the move had to put a stop to my mouse breeding program.

Went in to the nearest reptile shop to me and had a look around. I asked to get a corn snake out and that was fine. When I asked to have a burm out around 4 foot I was told I could not. Thought right fine maybe its snappy and left it at that. Then asked him for some frozen food. Got the first part of my order out 4 pinkies and the bloke started laughing saying I love the way women buy a months worth of food you got a hatchling corn. I replied among other things yes. By the time I got the rest of my order 8 fluuffs, 10 small mice, 15 large mice, 4 large rats, 1 giant rat and 3 tubs of live for the BD. His mouth was open so much his chin was nearly on the floor. He asked how long is this lot going to last you and I said a week and he then asked what reps I had. When I told him he apologised to me and went and got the burm out. As he handed it to me he said I am sorry I thought you where a silly women who wanted to hold the burm cos you thought it was pretty!!!!
