I work with school age kids on the base out here.  Most of the kids I spend most of my time with are 8 years and up. That by the way is when kids are the coolest and the suckiest!  Anyway, I brought my snakes in about once a month for a while now.  And a little boy comes up to me and asks when I'm bringing in the snakes and I tell him about them and when and he is just amazed! I then tell him about Mona my 11 foot retic.  He flips out and says "Ms. Kim Where do you find snakes like that out here! I've never even seen a snake out here!" I just had to laugh! I found her at a pet store and the pet store 'found' a good bit of money!! Kids are so cool!

Neat story....I wish my teachers brought in snakes when i was 8.

I do educational snake awareness demos and have to watch the youngsters as they see me handling snakes and tend to think that all is cool.

I have the odd animal that has no problem being pocked and prodded but the majority do not stand for it at all.
