Some people like hermit crabs and others do not. My father thinks they look like spider with shells and he cant stand spiders, so wants nothing to do with the hermit crabs. They are like every other animal and they attract some peoples attention and others abhor them.

Admin, you would be surprised at how many hermit crabs have escaped and run wild through the houses. Some peoples for a few minutes, to a day or two, week or two, I even heard one was loose for right at a year.

They are used to climbing and if they do not have anything else, they will climb the sealant in the corner of the hermit crab tanks. If the lids are not on well enough, they can push their way out.... lol..

I, myself, have had a few escapess.. lol.... Most hermit crab owners do have an escape at some point.

Hmm.....Today I am going to take pictures of my crabs and post them here before anywhere else. Either that or ill just put a link to the album lol. They are interesting creatures.

Maybe not that the care has changed, just alot more has been learned about them and ways to help lengthen their lives in captivity.. lol..
