You find yourself being biased toward a particular animal due to ignorance so noted but if you wish to broaden your outlook and knowlage I am sure we the venomous keepers can accommodate you as 90% of the knowlage accumulated about these animals are because of keepers like me and not from zoo’s or petting farms.
I am not biased at all, just the opposite. The examples given from other members such as dogs and horses I commented on. But i don't believe that they come into the same bracket as venomous snakes. I have kept horses and I have kept dogs, and can guarantee that they are more trainable than snakes. I don't think that this is ignorance as I wanted to comment on the venmous snakes rather than the examples given. Think of it more "selective" than ignorant.
90% of the knowledge? Could you elaborate on this at all? What sort of knowledge - Husbandry, etc, or to levels of creating antivenim? I said I do not agree with venomous being kept in residential homes (another thread). I do agree with them being kept in environments for study rather than as a "pet". I feel the risk is too great.
But then... I'm just a piney with 1 venomous species in my country. Maybe my opinion is a little more tailored to my environment.
